Sorry, kittycats and hipsters. I took this blog down for fear of being arrested. They tap phones now, you know, so who knows when it will occur to them to include websites in background checks. And this will probably come as no surprise, but the TSA doesn't have much of a sense of humor.
For those of you unfamiliar with this project, I applied for a job in November, 2004, as a security officer with the TSA (Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security). The process took nine months from the initial application submission to my start date, and I kept a blog of the experience. My dissertation revolved around issues of security (mostly from a philosophical, post-modern perspective) and this was, originally, "research." Hah. I'm scarred for life.
I'm working on a piece for an anthology called, Things, which should be published in January, '08. If that goes of without a hitch, then I'll probably repost the blog. Oh, and if you want, you can view the diss online. It's, well, "scholarly." Hah. Again, scarred for life.
*smooch*
